DAY 1 : New Jalpaiguri Railway Station (NJP) / Bagdogra Airport (IXB) – Darjeeling (88 km / 3 Hours Drive Approximately)

On your arrival to the railway station, bus station or airport, you will be received warmly and transferred to your hotel in Darjeeling. This pleasant drive will take you through hilly terrains until you reach the elevation of approximately 7000 feet.

Even with an increase in the number of tourists visiting Darjeeling grows with every passing year, it is not commercialized and still retains a very distinctive personality.

Once you arrive at this immaculate town, check in at the hotel. You can either relax at the hotel and enjoy the view of the valley or head for a tour around the buzzing city. The day is at leisure and at your will to explore.

End the day with a comfortable overnight stay at the hotel in Darjeeling with a delicious dinner.


DAY 2 : Full Day Local Sightseeing in Darjeeling

Kick-start your day really early at around 4 a.m. today. Drive atop and reach the Tiger Hill that is set at a striking height of 2590 meters. The sun will rise over Mt. Kanchenjunga, which is the world’s third highest peak, and the views are one of its kinds. The panoramic views of the colossal mountain ranges and other snow-clad peaks are mesmerising.

On your way back down, halt at the Ghoom Monastery and Batasia Loop. The monastery is the biggest one in Ghoom and it is also the oldest Buddhist Tibetan Monastery in Darjeeling. It also preserves the very rare handwritten Buddhist manuscripts.

The Batasia Loop is a spiral track of the toy train built over a hilltop where the trail coils around before disappearing into the tunnel. The view of the surroundings is gripping when witnessed from here.

Return to the hotel for breakfast. Post that, head out for some more sightseeing in Darjeeling.

Visit the Himalayan Mountaineering Institute which houses a museum of mountaineering artefacts and also consists of a residential school for students who are learning mountaineering.

Then, visit the Padmaja Naidu Himalayan Zoological Park and the Tenzing Rock. The park is set at an elevation of 7,000 feet and is not operational on Thursdays. It is the largest high altitude zoo in India. The Tenzing Rock is a huge natural rock where a lot of trained and beginners practice rock-climbing.

Enjoy an outer view of the Chitrey Tea Garden before you make your way to the Japanese Temple and the Peace Pagoda. The Japanese Temple showcases four avatars of Lord Buddha and the Pagoda’s aim is to radiate peace and non-violence in the world. It sanitizes the land as well as the soul and mind of the people.

Then, in the evening, go to Chowrasta and Mall Road for an evening stroll. The Chowrasta is a buzzing marketplace and also a meeting square. You can also indulge into horse riding activities here.After visiting all the local sightseeing places in Darjeeling, return back to the hotel for a peaceful overnight stay.


DAY 3 : Darjeeling – Pelling (120 km / 4 Hours Drive Approximately)

Enjoy a toothsome breakfast meal at the hotel on this day of your Darjeeling Pelling Gangtok Lachen Lachung holiday tour post which, prepare for check out from the hotel in Darjeeling. Transfers to Pelling will be arranged for and you will embark on a road trip that is filled with delight and adrenaline challenging mountainous turns. With the backdrop of the beautiful mighty hills, Pelling is tucked away from the urban cacophony.

On arrival in Pelling, check in at the hotel and enjoy the rest of the day at your own will. Visit the nearby market areas if you wish to shop and devour on some local delicacies.Spend the overnight relaxing in the comfort of the cosy hotel room.

DAY 4 : Full Day Local Sightseeing in Pelling

Give an early start to the day with some appetising breakfast meal and prepare for local sightseeing in Pelling.

First, head to the Darap Valley. It is set at an altitude of 5,100 feet and the villagers will treat you to some delicious local food. Have a chance at walking around the landscapes and interact with the locals. The village is still untouched by the large movement of tourists and the hospitality of the Sikkimese people can still be enjoyed here.

Then, visit the Rimbi waterfalls and the Kanchenjunga waterfalls. Both these falls are a big tourist attraction. They pour off a cliff before tumbling into a pool below. Owing to its no-hassle access, these spots usually attracts a lot of crowd.

Then, proceed to visit the Rock Garden and the Khecheopalri Lake. A clean and calm stream of water flows through the area over small and big rocks at the garden. It is bounded by orange trees in the garden and many cardamom shrubs as well. The Khecheopalri Lake is also equally scenic. It is set amidst beautiful green mountains and is considered to be holy by Buddhists and Hindus. It is believed to fulfil the wishes of the devotees.

Lastly, visit the Rabdentse Ruins, Pema Yangtse monastery and Helipad Ground. The Rabdentse ruins stands proud as an evidence of the glorious past of Sikkim. It is a must see site for archaeological and saga lovers. The Pema Yangtse is at a walking distance from here and offers splendid views of the Kanchenjunga mountain ranges. The Helipad ground is also another popular viewing spot. Behold the sunset views here where the rays of the sun paint the sky with a burning red. Return to the hotel in the evening and stay overnight in Pelling.


DAY 5 : Pelling – Gangtok (120 km / 5 Hours Drive Approximately)

On this of your holiday package, have a lip-smacking breakfast at the hotel and proceed to the front desk of the hotel in Pelling to complete the check out procedures. Hop in the car and drive off to Gangtok.

The capital city is perhaps a nature’s gift to the nation. The journey will greet you with snow-capped mountains and you shall experience the thrill of a challenging journey.

On arrival in Gangtok, check in the hotel and enjoy the rest of the day at leisure. You can explore the nearby areas on your own. If you wish, you can visit the MG Marg. Here, you can shop for souvenirs and the must pick-up items include shawls, traditional choktse tables, carpets, baskets made from bamboo and cane and other gifts items that deeply reflect the art of state.Spend the overnight in the cosy hotel room in Gangtok.


DAY 6 : Gangtok (Tsomgo Lake Excursion and Baba Mandir)

After enjoying a healthy breakfast at the hotel in Gangtok, followed by sightseeing in Gangtok. You first leave for a visit to the Changu Lake or what is also known as Tsomgo Lake that is set at a height of 12,400 feet. It derives its waters from the melting of the snow. The colour of the waters of this lake helped the lamas predict the future in the earlier days. It is considered sacred by the Sikkimese people.

Then, visit the Baba Mandir, a shrine that is dedicated to a former soldier of the Indian Army- Baba Harbhajan Singh. It is believed that his spirit guards the international boundary between India and China. The view from 13,200 feet above of the surrounding mountains will certainly leave a lasting impression. Many people also bottle the water in the name of the ailing people and the water seems to heal them.

An optional tour to Nathula Pass can be arranged at an additional cost. It was earlier the silk route and you can witness the steps that lead to the Indo-China border. You can also take a ride on colourfully ornamented yaks and ponies here.

Return back to the hotel in the evening and spend the night at the hotel in Gangtok.


DAY 7 : Gangtok – Lachen (125 km / 6 Hours Drive Approximately)

Have a stomach-filling breakfast and start your day early by checking out from the hotel in Gangtok and proceeding towards Lachen. It is one of the most beautiful towns in Sikkim and is scarcely populated. Try spotting rear birds such as the wood snipe and hoary-throated barwing on your way.

Visit the Singhik View point, Seven Sisters Water Falls and the Naga Water Falls before you make your way to the hotel.

Experience nature at its best at the Singhik View point. It is like a paradisiacal retreat from the stridency of the cities. The vast lush grasslands and shrubs along with apple orchards make it a wonderful sight to behold.

The Seven Sisters Water Falls is a cascade of seven different falls that flow in a perfect harmony. The serene atmosphere of this place is worth commending and it is believed to be one of the most popular and noteworthy places in Sikkim.

The Naga Water Falls are also similarly a sight for sore eyes. It is a huge broad stream of water that flows at a very high speed. It gives a mesmerising and a thrilling experience to the onlookers. 

Continue your journey to reach Lachen. On arrival, check in at the hotel and enjoy a comfortable overnight.


DAY 8 :  Lachen – Gurudongmar Lake – Chopta Valley Excursion – Lachung

After relishing an early morning breakfast, check out from the hotel in Lachen and head out for some local sightseeing.

Drive to the Gurudongmar Lake first where you will be mesmerized by the serene surroundings. A 3-hour drive will take you atop a peak where the lake is perched at an altitude of 17,000 feet. It is very close to the Tibet border and is encircled all around the year by snow-covered peaks. The lake is considered to be sacred by the Hindus, Sikhs and Buddhists. It is also one of the highest lakes in the world.

Post that; make quick stops at the Chopta Valley and Thangu before heading back to the hotel. Known for its varying hues, the Chopta Valley is a very picturesque destination. Positioned at an altitude of 13200 feet, adventure junkies love the water sports activities here. The Thangu Valley is a small and cosy village that is decorated with vibrant alpine flowers. A lot of travellers flock here every year for the spectacular hiking trails that the valley offers. It is an ideal place for nature lovers and photo enthusiasts.

Check out from the hotel post lunch, and make your way to Lachung.On arrival, check in at the hotel and spend the overnight at the hotel.

 

DAY 9 : Lachung – Yumthang Excursion – Gangtok

Have a stomach-filling breakfast and start your day early by checking out from the hotel in Lachung and proceed towards the Yumthang Valley.

Situated at a height of 11,800 feet, it is popularly known as ‘Valley of Flowers and is bounded by massive yet humbling snow-capped mountains. It is a peaceful hamlet with a mere population. It is a grazing ground of the Yaks in summers and a playground for Yetis in winter. You can also visit the hot springs that are considered to have medicinal curative properties.

To cut the long journey short, enjoy a short stopover at the Bheema and Twin Falls. These are one of the tallest waterfalls in the state and among the most famous spots to visit in Lachung. The Bheema falls are also popularly known as the Amitabh Bachchan falls owing to its tallness.

An optional tour to the Zero Point can be arranged for on request and at an additional cost. Set at an altitude of 15,300 feet above sea level, it is the last outpost of civilization. The international border of China lies a few meters ahead and hence civilians are restricted to go any further.

After sightseeing, continue your journey to Gangtok. On arrival, check in at the hotel and spend the overnight in the comfort of the cosy room.


DAY 10 : Gangtok – New Jalpaiguri Railway Station (NJP) / Bagdogra Airport (IXB) (120 km / 4.5 Hours Drive Approximately)

The last day of your Sikkim holiday package has unfortunately arrived. After gobbling on some healthy breakfast, finish with all the necessary check out procedures. Transfers to the railway station, bus station or airport will be arranged as per your travel plan and you will commence on your onward journey home. We look forward to serving you again.
